Drawing Out 2016 -
a partnership project with Saint Paul's Growing West Side Farmer's Market and the West Side Community Organization
Saturday 8:30-12:00 June - October, 63 George Street West
Drawn Out of their studios into the Farmer’s Market setting, artists activate their process in a way that engages community & catalyzes conversation. The goal of Drawing Out is to raise the value of the arts and artists in the non-traditional settings as assets, change-makers and conversation starters. Artists are asked to work loosely around community issues and given space to experiment translating their studio practice into the community engagement setting.
Artist Nick Foster Walters created and installed this permanent structure in the Farmer's Market space. Additionally- Walters developed a relationship with the local library to maintain book supply!
Artist Mira Kehoe created an collaborative community installation with the goal of capturing community voice around topics generated by community leaders.
Sara K Udvig (me:) brought her studio practice to the community with fantastic collaborative results.
Artist Christine Olson digs deeper into components of healthy soil
